Remembrance

Each November, Branch 250 leads Kitimat in honouring those who served and those who never came home. Everyone is welcome to stand with us.

Remembrance Day in Kitimat

On November 11 the community gathers at the cenotaph for the Act of Remembrance, the Last Post, two minutes of silence at 11 am and the laying of wreaths. Veterans, cadets, the RCMP, first responders and families march together.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

We will remember them.

The Poppy Campaign

From the last Friday in October until November 11, Legion volunteers offer poppies across Kitimat. Poppies are free, and every donation supports Veterans and their families.

Volunteer with the campaign

Wear it over your heart

Wear your poppy on the left side, over your heart, from the last Friday in October until November 11.

Keep the poppy clear

Fasten it with a pin that doesn't cover the poppy itself.

After November 11

Store your poppy somewhere safe or dispose of it respectfully.

Where donations go

Poppy donations are used to support Veterans and their families.
